Covid-19 Updates

COVID-19/CORONAVIRUS Update 25/5/2020

The Government has announced an increase to the number of people who can gather together at Alert Level 2.

From 12 noon Friday 29 May, gatherings can be held with up to 100 people.

The new limit applies to gatherings at your home, events outside of home and public venues.

When holding a gathering, play it safe – maintain hygiene standards and meet existing record-keeping requirements for contact tracing.

🙂 Keep it up NZ!

COVID-19/CORONAVIRUS Update 13/5/2020

New look in Level 2 🙂

According to the rules at this stage: Events/birthday parties must:

  • have no more than 10 people
  • not be longer than 2 hours
  • keep high hygiene standards
  • record attendees to ensure contact tracing can be conducted if necessary.

Regarding the contract tracing sheet, I will send this to the host of the party, to be filled out by all the guests. These information will be secure and confidential. 🙂

COVID-19/CORONAVIRUS Update 11/5/2020

The Government has announced New Zealand will move from Alert Level 3 to Alert Level 2 at 11.59pm on Wednesday 13 May. Refer: Unite against Covid-19 website

The most important part is the temporary limits on gathering numbers, if you are organizing a birthday party or an event:

You can have friends and family over to your home, but gatherings are limited to up to 10 people, or the people who usually live in your house.

Play it safe — keep surfaces clean, wash your hands, and keep the numbers low so you can practice safe physical distancing.

Gatherings must:

  • have no more than 10 people
  • not be longer than 2 hours
  • keep high hygiene standards
  • record attendees to ensure contact tracing can be conducted if necessary.

If you are booking a face painter (me:) ), I will follow the below hygiene process:

  • I am going to wear a face shield with nice stickers on it:) (so hopefully kids will not be frightened), plus nice blue gloves:)
  • I will use very strict hygiene practice. (see more details on my first Covid-19 update post below) Face painting will not be more risky than the kids running around together and eating food from the same table at a birthday party.
  • I will have contact tracing system in place, conforming NZ Health expectations, which I will make simple and easy for you, keeping also privacy in mind.
  • People who are unwell, will have to stay at home.

COVID-19/CORONAVIRUS Update 7/5/2020

We got some information on what life and business will look like at Alert Level 2 when we get there. Refer: Unite against COVID-19 website

I’m taking bookings again when Level 2 kicks in, with the following measures taking place;

In a nutshell, you can book a face painter to your party but your face painter will look a bit different to usual 🙂

In details:

You can attend gatherings of no more than 100 people, like weddings, funerals, family events, concerts, religious services and public meetings, provided public health measures can be maintained. You can have friends and family over to your home, but play it safe — keep surfaces clean, wash your hands, and keep the numbers low so you can practice safe distancing.

Face painting service involves close personal contact, in the same way as in the hair dressers or beauty therapists business.

Our business can safely operate if we have measures like:

  • have a contact tracing system in place
  • maintain good hygiene practices
  • minimize contact to the extent possible

Also if you are the organizer of an event please stress that all your guests have to #stayhome if they feel unwell.

I will be unable to paint anyone who:
• is, or appears to be sick (running nose, cough, fever, and any other typical symptoms of Covid-19)
• is suffering from cold sores, conjunctivitis, rashes, infectious skin conditions or open wounds.

So the message is:

If you feel unwell, please do not attend any event or birthday party, just #stayhome.

In the meantime, while we are still on Alert Level 3, I am painting on my arms to stay in form and really enjoying the challenging themes and painting in more details.

Hope to see you soon again!

Kia kaha!

COVID-19/CORONAVIRUS Update 2/5/2020

Since 28th April, we are in Alert Level 3 for at least two weeks, and unfortunately I can not get back to do face painting on parties or on any other bubbles than my one. I really miss working so I have painted at home on my arms, practicing and trying out new ideas to paint. Here are some:) Enjoy, Hopefully booking will be open from Level 2.

COVID-19/CORONAVIRUS Update 20/4/2020

Alert Level 4 lockdown is extended till 11.59pm on Monday, April 27. We will then stay at level 3 for two weeks before reviewing.

As face painting involves close contacts I am able to reopen when we are back at least at level 2. Thank you for your understanding!

COVID-19/CORONAVIRUS Update 25/3/2020

Obviously all bookings must be cancelled/rescheduled for at least 4 weeks and maybe even longer. I will be working on my painting skills in the meantime and spend quality time with my family at home.
We all appreciate it is a challenging time, do not forget to stay kind and care about each others. I have already offered help to my elderly friends to do the shopping for them while keeping the physical distance.❤️❤️

COVID-19/CORONAVIRUS Update 15/3/2020

As we all are aware we have confirmed cases of Coronavirus/COVID-19 in New Zealand, and while we acknowledge that this creates fear and frustration, it is important we remain calm and follow advice from our health professionals.

Face painting involves close social distance so I thought I would share:
I have strict hygiene measures in place, and I am going to have even more strict hygiene procedures in place as follows:
• I am going to try to paint designs which require only brush, so I will try and avoid the use of sponges at all.
• If I use sponges, I use a fresh one for each person.
• Each brush is sanitized and cleaned with appropriate products and my water is replaced between each person.
• I am going to use antiseptic drops in my water or use Isopropyl Alcohol spray to clean the bowl
• All my brushes, sponges, are washed thoroughly between each jobs at home with antibacterial soap, Isopropyl Alcohol and my entire kit is sterilized appropriately.
I am aware that this situation and process may cause a bit more waiting in the line. It is all for a good cause, to protect all of us.

For everyone’s safety please kindly understand, I cannot paint anyone who:
• is, or appears to be sick (running nose, cough, fever, etc.)
• is suffering from cold sores, conjunctivitis, rashes, infectious skin conditions or open wounds.
If you feel unwell, please do not attend any event or birthday party, stay at home.

I am currently still open for bookings, however, I will be following the Ministry of Health announcements and recommendations should the situation deteriorate. Let’s hope it doesn’t come to that. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
Thank you for your support!:) Stay safe!
